With the Gauge Museum and sleeping car open on all four days of the Autumn Gala, and with 6705 available to visit on the Saturday and Sunday at Williton, we were pleased to receive a steady flow of visitors to both venues. The number of people showing interest in 6705 at this year’s Gala was significantly greater than I can recall at previous galas. The accompanying photograph shows Greg McNelly explaining to some visitors to the Autumn Gala as to how the photographs are the originals, and are even back in their original positions within the compartment.
Greg and his ever-growing team of volunteers who turn up week after week on Tuesdays or Wednesdays or Thursdays, (some volunteers even do more than one day a week), is beginning to really show dividends in the amount of progress being made on 6705.
