Following the acquisition of the shed and trackwork at Washford, the Heritage Trust has now moved its first vehicle to the site. The accompanying photograph shows carriage 6705 inside the shed having been propelled by a DEPG Class 33 fairly gingerly into position on Wednesday this week.
Today is a momentous day for the Heritage Carriages Project and also for the Trust. This morning 6705 was moved into the Washford shed! The team has been waiting years to get the carriage under cover so that we can finally complete it ready for use in traffic. It was really quite a moment, and I know that the team would like me to say how much they value the support of the Trust Board and for providing us with such a fantastic facility.
